Relax and Earn CME in Sonoma

About This CME Event

Relax and learn in beautiful Sonoma Valley!

Recharge in the heart of Sonoma Valley while earning CME credit. This continuing medical education (CME) activity is offered in a hybrid format, combining self-paced learning with a lively, in-person discussion.

How It Works:
Before the in-person event, you’ll receive a curated list of articles related to the topic so you can learn at your own pace (and rack up CME credits while lounging in your favorite chair). Then, join us in Sonoma for a “coffee and conversation” style discussion group (no plastic lanyards or formal hotel ballrooms here). You’ll connect with other healthcare providers, dive deeper into the material, and enjoy learning in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

The Secret Sauce Behind Our CME Format:

  • A destination event is the perfect antidote to everyday stress, supporting well-being and helping to kick burnout to the curb.

  • In-person participation is required, which can make reporting travel-related expenses for professional development to your accountant that much easier.

  • You’ll have access to a comprehensive selection of topic-relevant articles, letting you earn at least four CME credits per day (your accountant will love you for this).

CME Information:

  • Self-paced reading: Earn Category 1 CME credits by reading each article and completing a quick post-reading evaluation on the Open Evidence platform.

  • In-person discussion group: Earn Category 1 CME through Learner+, a platform offered by CMEfy. Learner+ lets you document your learning and how it applies to your practice (there’s a yearly fee for Learner+). Prefer to keep things simple? A free alternative is to log the discussion as Category 2 CME, which is self-documented and self-reported (no certificate needed). Whichever option you choose, be sure to document your in-person participation for your accountant if you’re submitting travel-related expenses for tax purposes.

Have questions? We’ve got answers.

Q: Who is this CME event for?
A: This event is perfect for healthcare providers who enjoy laid-back, interactive learning in a destination setting. If you like the idea of connecting with colleagues around engaging topics in a casual atmosphere (with or without a fancy beverage in hand), you’ll fit right in.

Q: Who is this CME event not for?
A: If your happy place is a hotel ballroom with stiff chairs, fluorescent lighting, and enough PowerPoint slides to wallpaper your house, you might want to sit this one out. We prefer learning that feels more like a lively chat than a snooze-fest in a necktie.

Q: What’s the setting for the in-person discussion?
A: We’re skipping the soul-sucking hotel conference room (we just can’t take the fake chandeliers). Instead, we’ll meet in a laid-back, welcoming spot.

Q: Can I get at least four CME credits per day (so my accountant doesn’t give me side-eye about travel expenses)?
A: Yes! Our self-paced learning materials are designed to let you rack up more than four CME credits per day. You’ll be swimming in CME credits, and your accountant can stop clutching their spreadsheets.

Q: Is the in-person discussion about the articles really just an hour?
A: Yup! We believe time in a beautiful location is the best antidote to provider burnout, so our group session is just an hour. The rest of the day is yours, so go forth and frolic (or nap, hike, or do whatever restores your soul).

Q: My accountant wants to know if I can just Zoom in to the meeting instead of traveling to what he calls “vacation paradise.”
A: Sorry, no virtual option—you’ll have to relax in person in a gorgeous setting (and maybe even spend some time out in nature). Bonus: science says that’s good for you, and your accountant can call it “professional development.”

Q: Can my family join me for the day/weekend? Or friends?
A: They can absolutely come along for the trip! While the actual event is strictly for healthcare providers, there’s plenty nearby to keep your family and friends entertained while you’re living your best CME life. We’ll send you a list of fun things for them to do while you soak up some education.

Q: Do I have to stay at a certain hotel?
A: Nope! You can stay wherever you like—budget motel, boutique inn, or full-on luxury. The choice is yours.

Q: I’m bad at planning where to stay and what to do. Can you help me?
A: Yes! We’ll send you a handy list of great places to stay, tasty spots to eat, and fun things to do in the area. Just pick what sounds good—easy as that!

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We know life happens—whether it’s a sudden emergency, an unexpected Nobel Prize nomination, or just realizing you double-booked with your kid’s school play. If you cancel at least two weeks before the event, we’ll refund 75% of your ticket price (blame our ticket vendor’s “service fee” for the missing chunk). After that, refunds are a no-go, even if you promise to send us postcards from your spontaneous trip to Machu Picchu.
