Think You Might Have ADHD?

Chances are, you've already taken an online quiz (or ten).

They’re everywhere: “How to Know if You Have ADHD!”

Maybe you thought: “Wait, I’m not hyper, could I still have ADHD?”

Spoiler alert: Yes. What used to be called ADD is now known as ADHD, inattentive type.
The name changed, but the experience hasn’t.

So, you clicked on one of those quizzes, hoping for some clarity.
Totally understandable.

Here's the catch:

Those are screeners, and simply put, screeners cannot diagnose ADHD.

In fact, there is no single test that can diagnose ADHD. (Despite those clickbait headlines.)
A true ADHD diagnosis requires a review of your history, a diagnostic interview, plus multiple forms of assessment.

And because those online screening "tests" are not diagnostic, they won’t get you:

  • A legit diagnosis

  • School or workplace accommodations

  • A prescription for medication

That said, here is what you don’t need:

You don’t need a $5,000 neuropsych evaluation with a 45-page report that won't actually get read.

That’s overkill. And research backs that up.

Here's what you do need:

An streamlined ADHD evaluation that’s comprehensive enough to:

  • Provide a legitimate diagnosis

  • Qualify you for accommodations

  • Give you a report that your medical provider can use to prescribe medication

That’s exactly what we offer.

You will get an evaluation that doesn't take forever, but is comprehensive enough to cover all the bases.

And you won’t get a report that is 45 pages of fluff. (Because let’s be honest: most people skip straight to the summary.)

We make sure every page matters.

No guessing. No overkill. Just the right tests.

This is a personalized assessment—not a clickbait quiz claiming to diagnose ADHD.

It’s a tailored evaluation that gives you the clarity and documentation you need—nothing more, nothing less.

Rates for ADHD Testing

Full adult ADHD evaluation – $800

Our comprehensive ADHD evaluation is designed to give you clear answers and the documentation you need. It includes:

  • History and interview: We start with a detailed review of your background and a structured clinical interview to understand your unique experiences.

  • Standardized testing: You’ll complete assessments that measure attention, focus, and executive functioning.

  • Comprehensive written report: You’ll receive a detailed, professional report summarizing your results. This document is what schools, workplaces, and medical providers usually require for accommodations or prescription medication.

  • Feedback session: We’ll meet to go over your results together so you fully understand your profile, your strengths, and next steps for support.

We provide ADHD testing services for adults online throughout California, Connecticut, and Virginia, and in-person in Sacramento, California.

Note on payment info: Psychological testing is a detailed process that involves specialized assessments, scoring, interpreting, and a personalized written report. Because each test is purchased (from the copyright holder) specifically for each client, and because the process requires significant preparation and clinician time out of session, payment is due at the time of service. Once testing begins, refunds aren’t available if the process is not completed. We encourage you to ask any questions ahead of time so you feel confident moving forward.

Insurance: We are not able to bill insurance directly as we are out-of-network providers. If you would like, we can provide a superbill—a detailed receipt—that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement.

More Info About ADHD in Adults

ADHD in adults
Misunderstood. Misdiagnosed. Often missed entirely. ADHD doesn’t go away in adulthood, it just becomes harder to recognize. Many adults develop complex coping strategies that hide their symptoms, leading to burnout, mislabeling, and years without support.

What ADHD looks like in adults
It’s not always hyperactivity. Instead, it often shows up as:

  • Chronic disorganization

  • Missed deadlines and poor time management

  • Trouble starting or finishing tasks

  • Restlessness or difficulty relaxing

  • Impulsive decisions

  • Trouble focusing, especially on routine tasks

The invisible struggles
Many of the most disruptive ADHD symptoms are hidden from view:

  • Mental fatigue: Daily effort to stay on track can lead to exhaustion.

  • Hyperfocus: Periods of intense concentration on certain tasks can cause you to lose track of time and ignore other priorities.

  • Emotional overload: Strong reactions and difficulty managing frustration, disappointment, or rejection.

  • Imposter syndrome: Despite success, many adults with ADHD feel like they’re “faking it” and fear being exposed.

  • Overwhelm paralysis: Facing complex tasks can lead to shutdown, even when you want to act.

  • Time blindness: Losing track of time or underestimating how long tasks take creates chronic stress and disorganization.

Often misdiagnosed
Symptoms of adult ADHD can overlap with or be mistaken for:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Substance use problems

These may be co-occurring, or they may result from untreated ADHD.

“But I wasn’t diagnosed (or hyperactive) as a kid…”
That doesn’t rule out ADHD. Symptoms often become more noticeable in adulthood when life gets more demanding and support systems are gone. Hyperactivity can also become internalized with age, showing up as racing thoughts or multi-tasking to the point of exhaustion. ADHD is a lifelong condition, not just a childhood disorder.
