Understanding Diagnostic Evaluations

We understand how confusing and overwhelming it can be to navigate mental health concerns, especially when symptoms overlap or diagnoses remain unclear. Diagnostic evaluations are a thoughtful, in-depth way to bring clarity to these challenges. Rather than relying on a conversation or a checklist, we use a combination of clinical interviewing and evidence-based psychological testing to assess your unique experience. The result is a clear, accurate understanding of your mental health, which can be the key to finding the right path forward.

Diagnostic evaluations are especially helpful when you have been struggling with persistent symptoms, have received conflicting diagnoses, or want to better understand the root of your difficulties. By thoroughly exploring your history and current concerns, we can help differentiate between conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and more. This ensures that any recommendations or next steps are truly tailored to you.
How a Diagnostic Evaluation Can Help You

The process begins with a comprehensive clinical interview, where you will have the space to share your story in a confidential and supportive environment. Following this, we guide you through psychological testing that is chosen specifically for your situation. These assessments allow us to dig deeper, ruling out conditions that can look similar on the surface and highlighting areas that deserve attention.

After the evaluation, we meet with you for a personalized feedback session. Together, we review the findings, answer your questions, and discuss practical recommendations. You will also receive a detailed written report, which you can share with other providers if you wish. Our goal is to provide you with clarity and a roadmap for moving forward.
