Clary Tepper, Ph.D.
Therapy is about helping you make the changes you desire. Together, we will examine how your experiences--including your thoughts, beliefs, expectations, motivations, fears and needs--are affecting you currently. The therapeutic relationship provides an opportunity to gain insight into patterns and explore aspects of yourself that are hard to address. As you become more aware of these patterns and deeper aspects of yourself, change becomes possible. This process works best when both the therapist and the client are engaged and active participants in the process. I work with individuals, couples and families. Although I have worked with children in the past, I currently only work with adults and older adolescents.
I have served as a therapist at three universities with students, faculty, staff and administrators. I have developed specialized counseling programs (including eating disorders and health psychology) and have been the supervising psychologist for these programs. Over the years, I have worked with a broad range of issues.
I also provide two different kinds of testing: a career assessment that includes a look at psychological factors that might be affecting a successful career launch, and 2) diagnostic evaluations (psychological testing). Learn more about the kinds of assessments I provide (along with a list of the kinds of assessments I do not provide) under the "Assessment" tab.
The relationship between the client and therapist determines whether therapy is successful or not. I invite you to call and schedule an appointment so we can see if we are a good fit for one another
Please note: I do not take insurance. See "Rates" section for more info.
I have a Ph.D. in clinical developmental psychology from Bryn Mawr College. I have worked as a licensed therapist since 1996 in a variety of settings, and I have been in private practice since 2005. I treat a broad range of issues, including depression and anxiety, relationship issues (both with individuals alone and couples together), eating disorders, prenatal and post-partum issues, birth trauma, and with issues that arise around life transitions. I also work with people who identify as LGBTQ, and with trauma, grief, complicated bereavement and loss.
I invite you to contact me via phone or e-mail. I look forward to meeting you.
