Therapy is about helping you make the changes you desire. Together, we will examine how your experiences--including your thoughts, beliefs, expectations, motivations, fears and needs--are affecting you currently. The therapeutic relationship provides an opportunity to gain insight into patterns and explore aspects of yourself that are hard to address. As you become more aware of these patterns and deeper aspects of yourself, change becomes possible. This process works best when both the therapist and the client are engaged and active participants in the process. I work with individuals, couples and families. Although I have worked with children in the past, I currently only work with adults and older adolescents.

I have a Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College and currently work as both a clinical psychologist in private practice and as clinical faculty in a doctoral program in psychology, where I teach graduate students the process of counseling and therapy. I have served as a therapist at three universities with undergrad and graduate students, faculty, staff and administrators. I have developed specialized counseling programs (including eating disorders and health psychology) and have been the supervising psychologist for these programs. I have a specialty in working with physicians around the challenges unique to the field of medicine. In addition, I have specialized training in both trauma (I am trained in EMDR) and emotionally-focused therapy (EFT). Over the years, I have worked with a broad range of issues and have published on multiple topics in journals and books.

I also provide two different kinds of testing: a career assessment that includes a look at psychological factors that might be affecting a successful career launch, and 2) diagnostic evaluations (psychological testing).
